There are different types of Ney in the world including flute, double drum, Gharaney, seven-strap Ney, etc. Seven-strap Ney will be discussed in the following.

 Seven-strap Ney;

Seven-strap Ney is a wind instrument which is made of Ney plant. In order to make this Iranian instrument, Ney is cute in such a way that it consisted of seven straps and six knots from top to bottom.

The seven-strap Ney consists of 5 holes in the front and one hole in the back which are covered by the second and fourth fingers of one hand and the first to fourth fingers of the other hand.

In general, Ney is played by placing between the two eyeteeth, and rounding the tongue at the bottom and back. About a Ney instrument, the finger places is easy, but the hardest thing is to provide sound of it.
