Characters of a dervish
The personal moral virtues of the seeker, which are more important during the seeking path, are;
1- Contenting: It’s one of the virtues of chastity that one can easily learn eating, drinking, wearing, etc. and it prevents the loss and damage of any kind that happens.
2- Generosity: It is one of the virtues of chastity.
The almsgiving of property and other necessities will be easy for him to give them to the deserved as he could. It has 8 items;
• Magnificence: It should be easy to almsgiving of property in public interest and its value is great in an expedient way.
• Forgiveness: Abandoning punishment for bad or seeking reward for good.
• Sacrifice: It is easy to go beyond what is needed and give it to the person who deserves it.
• Fellowship (Helping): It’s helping friends and deserving people in their livelihood and participating them in their strength and property.
• Merit (Grace): Happiness and desire to do good deeds and perseverance in morality.
• Fairness (Chivalry): A sincere desire to benefit/increase benefit and forgive the necessary.
• Negligence (Forgiving): Voluntary omission of some things that were not obligatory.
• Eminency (Donating): Forgiving in order to make happiness from things for which forgiveness was not obligatory.
3- Dignity and sanctity: They are types of chastity virtue. When the soul is aroused, it should be calm towards the contents in order to avoid haste, and the desired must not be lost, whether it is absorbing benefit or repelling harm;
4- Wiseman: It’s the wisdom which includes all kinds of sayings;
• Wit: Speed in concluding theorems and easiness in extracting results.
• Purity of mind: The ability to extract the desired without anxiety and worry.
• Speed of understanding: Moving from effect to cause without pause and procrastination.
• Virtue of reason: in discussing and discovering any truth, the limit must be kept so that it must be neither neglecting nor excessing.
• Ease of learning: The soul achieves a limit to pays attention to the desired by preventing the various dangers (such as justification and purpose) to its totality.
• Proviso: It records the items of which wisdom achieved by intellect or illusion has acquired by the power of thought/imagination or abandoned them.
Recall: Using teachings easily whenever needed.
5- Pious: It’s one of the types of justice virtue. It’s bowing and glorifying his creator and close souls to him and his obedience.
6- A pure heart: It includes two attributes of amnesty and compassion which are among the types of virtue of chastity;
• Amnesty: It should be easy for the soul to not choose punishment when somebody did bad deeds to him/not seek reward when he did good deeds to somebody/gain position from it.
• Benignity: Humility of the soul in things that happen for the pleasure of the God, which is also called Premsia.
